Clipper City Tall Ship
The hustle and bustle of the city are left behind, as you sail smoothly out into the sunset on the Sunset Sail aboard the Clipper City Tall Ship. Few people ever have the chance to sail aboard a tall ship. The newest (and by far the biggest) addition to the fleet, the topsail schooner Clipper City allows you to do just that. She is an imposing 158-ft. long, with masts and rigging reaching up 120 feet from the deck. New York’s largest and most elegant sailing vessel can accommodate up to 150 passengers.
A replica of the lumber-hauling schooners that drove America’s industry more than a century ago, Clipper City was built in the mid-1980s using plans purchased from the Smithsonian. Designed with her new cargo in mind (i.e. you), her decks are spacious and comfortable, with ample seating, a full bar and a raised quarter deck that allows for unparalleled views of the city and it’s harbor.
See the worlds most famous skyline light up the night. The noise of the city turns to silence as the Clipper City Tall Ship slips out into the East River, cuts her engines and unfurls her sails for a tranquil cruise. At night, see New York’s skyline all lit up and shining! The Statue of Liberty with the moon and cityscape reflected on the water is not to be missed! Bring your own food and have a picnic under the stars. Makes for romantic memories!
