More Information on Children’s Museum of Houston

Children’s Museum of Houston is something very unique that every kid can enjoy. Kids can also work, shop, and vote at the Kidtropolis ‘city’; carry out science experiments at the Matter Factory; get their hands dirty at the outdoor EcoStation; and learn about everyday life and culture in South Korea at the Heart and Seoul exhibition. There is something for everybody!

Tot*Spot:

Tot*Spot is designed to engage children ages 0-2 in meaningful experiences that encourage active play. This infant through toddler-friendly space fosters your child’s brain development through discovery, sensory exploration, experimentation, social communication, problem-solving and imaginative play. The many interactives will grab their attention and keep them busy!

EcoStation:

Everything in our ecosystem is connected…even you! You can explore the environment and conduct ecological studies in the EcoStation, recognized as a Certified Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. Try making some leaf rubbings, identifying footprints, observing decomposition, spotting animals in the pond (including our red-eared slider turtles), and more! Plus, we have constantly changing activities inside our solar-powered research pavilion.

Cyberchase—The Chase Is On!:

Based on Cyberchase™, the Emmy Award-winning PBS KIDS cartoon, Cyberchase—The Chase Is On! presents math in a fun, action-packed environment where you must use your critical thinking skills to save the day! Like the show, you’ll enter Cyberspace through a special portal, be greeted by Motherboard, and explore your favorite Cybersites! You’ll work with the CyberSquad: Matt, Inez, Jackie, and Digit, to protect Cyberspace from the evil Hacker while exploring concepts like algebra, geometry, fractions, and probability.

Heart and Seoul:

Growing Up in Korea: Explore traditional folktales and read personal stories told by Korean children as you discover time-honored cultural values and life in South Korea’s highly urbanized and technologically-advanced society. From visiting a high-rise apartment to hanging out in a K-Pop Studio, explore folktales, games, and daily activities that show how values like respect for parents and elders; the importance of scholarship; loyalty to family, friends, and community; and hospitality are all integral facets of 21st-century Korean life.

Inventors’ Workshop:

The Inventors’ Workshop immerses you in creative thinking and engineering from medieval machines to musical instruments. Invention is a “messy” process where you learn by doing and making mistakes necessary to invent. Best of all, our projects change each month!

Moreover, Children’s Museum Houston arranges many more programs like Newton Know-How!, Genius Station, Challenge Course, FlowWorks, How Does it Work?, Invention Convention, Kidtropolis, USA, Matter Factory. Powerplay, SECRET Spy Game, Maker Annex, Power Science Lab. Kids’ Hall and Parent Resource Library can engage children of all age groups. Because “There is something for everybody!”
