Beginning with the construction of the Thames Tunnel in 1843, the world’s first tunnel built underneath a river and dubbed ‘The Eighth Wonder of the World,’ the 175-year history of the London Underground is an eventful one full of world-firsts, stories, and urban legends. The Experience begins at the historic Baker Street Station, one of the original stops on the Metropolitan Railway, the world’s first underground railway.

The next stop is Hill Top Farm, the former home of Beatrix Potter and the inspiration for so many of her characters. If you visit during the winter months, you’ll see the ‘World of Beatrix Potter’ interactive exhibition instead, as the farm is closed during that time.

Don’t let the bearskin hats fool you – these soldiers are elite soldiers from the British military! St Paul’s Cathedral Guided Tour St Paul’s Cathedral is an iconic symbol of London. One of the largest churches in the world, its dome is an incredible 366ft high and was the tallest building in London until the 1960s. Explore the history of the Cathedral on a guided walking tour, and hear how Sir Christopher Wren’s masterpiece took 35 years to complete.

Wartime Headquarters From 1939 to 1945, Britain fought for its survival against the might of the German war machine. See the wartime headquarters from where the Allied leaders coordinated the resistance.

Britain was to be bombed into submission and over the course of 76 consecutive nights between September and November 1940, a third of the city was destroyed, while tens of thousands lost their lives. See visible signs of bomb damage from the war and visit the remains of at least one church that was destroyed during the Blitz and left as a testament to the devastation. Step back in time.
