Sherlock Holmes walking tour of London
If you’re a fan of the hit BBC TV show Sherlock, then this is the tour for you. Your private tour begins when your guide meets you at your hotel or convenient tube station and leads you toward some of the best-known and most important locations from Sherlock. You will visit the real street and see the door of Sherlock and Watson’s home. You’ll also see their favorite cafe and have a cup of tea there if you like! You can visit the spot where Watson gets dragged into the world of Sherlock and see the place where Sherlock falls off the rooftop.
The tour also includes a visit to 221b Baker Street itself, the famous home of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s detective for that chance to buy some Sherlock memorabilia, and a visit to New Scotland Yard, home of the Metropolitan Police, the oldest professional police service in the world and one that features heavily in the original stories and the new TV show. We will also visit locations from Sherlock movies past and present as well as the home of Sherlock author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Jack the Ripper daytime walking tour
This private 3-hour walking tour will transport you back to the dark and chilling world of the Whitechapel Murders in East London. Follow in the footsteps of the notorious and never-identified Jack the Ripper. During the autumn of 1888, Jack the Ripper murdered at least five women with several other horrendous killings. You’ll be able to explore the old streets of Whitechapel and learn what life was like for the people who lived here.
For those who want to see a different side of London, this is the perfect tour for you! Sites visited will include The White Hart, Brick Lane Police Station, The Ten Bells Spitalfields, Christ Church Spitalfields, Old Spitalfields Market, Soup Kitchen for the Jewish Poor, Goulston Street Food Court, Mitre Square Garden, and much more! As far as we know, we are the only tour that visits the locations of all canonical ‘Jack’ killings.
Charles Dickens walking tour
This walking tour will take us to places that both inspired famous author Charles Dickens and real locations that shaped the man himself. All writers take inspiration from people they meet, and places they visit, and Charles Dickens was no different. His novels are so successful because he so enjoyed wandering the streets of London and picking up the rich details of everyday life.
On this tour, you’ll visit a variety of places in London, such as St George the Martyr, Marshalsea Street, Tabard Street, and Long Lane. You’ll then make your way to the Marshalsea Prison and visit the stupendous London Bridge, Winchester Palace, and Borough Market. The itinerary also includes passing by Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, moving on to visit Temple Church, Dr. Johnson’s House, The Old Curiosity Shop, Lincoln’s Inn Fields, 190 High Holborn, Bloomsbury, until finally arriving at the Charles Dickens Museum.
