About Zoo Miami
Meet and learn about all types of animals at Zoo Miami. From wild, tropical birds to larger-than-life giraffes, you’ll find all sorts of fascinating animals here. Families can feed giraffes, ride camels, meet a rhino, play in one of our water areas, and more. While there, don’t forget to learn about the zoo’s global conservation efforts! With the coming of Spring, you can check out all the new, younger additions to the zoo! Watch out for those little cuties!
Operating Hours: The zoo is open seven days a week, 365 days a year, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The last ticket is sold at 3:30 pm.

Zoo Miami is ideal for solo visitors, couples, and families to spend a day with some of the most incredible species on the planet! Visitors can travel the world in one day! They will visit Africa, Asia, the Amazon, and Australia. Zoo Miami consists of 340 developed acres with more than 3,000 animals and over 1,200 plants and trees, which are planted in such a way as to mimic the animals’ natural habitats.
Guests can feed giraffes, parrots, and a rhino; have animal encounters; meet the keepers during scheduled Meet the Zookeeper talks throughout the day; and much more. They will enjoy jaguars, lions, tigers, orangutans, elephants, the Wings of Asia Aviary (the largest Asian-themed aviary in the western hemisphere with hundreds of free-flying birds), gorillas, chimps, koalas, tree kangaroos, frogs, snakes, meerkats, and more animals than we could ever list.
At Amazon and Beyond, experience a rainforest, jaguars, anacondas, bats, venomous snakes (behind glass exhibits), rare frogs, harpy eagles, and a 48,000-gallon aquarium. And our Playworld Playground is a great place for kids to burn off excess energy. Half jungle, half water park, they can stay dry or wet. Zoo Miami has several concession stands and a beautiful gift shop where you can buy that special memento that will bring back wonderful memories of Zoo Miami!

Wings of Asia Aviary
- Walk among 400 – approximately 85 species – of the most exotic, beautiful, free-flying Asian birds you will ever see.
- Listen to soothing waterfalls as you walk along bridges and tree-covered paths.
- Dig for fossils at the Dino Dig and learn about the relationship between dinosaurs and today’s birds.
Animal Fun Factory
Open Weekends 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Presented by the José Milton Foundation, Zoo Miami’s Animal Fun Factory is a one-of-a-kind interactive exhibit where zoo visitors can learn about animal welfare and environmental conservation through hands-on, creative play. Enrichment is used to promote the natural behavior of the animals at Zoo Miami. Zoo educators guide visitors to create enrichment items that provide this physical and mental exercise for Zoo Miami’s animal residents.
