About Wildlife Learning Center
Wildlife Learning and Conservation Center (WLCC) is located in Sylmar, California, nestled in an old olive grove. WLCC was founded in 2007 to give home and care to animals in need and to provide public education in the life sciences, conservation, and the environment. WLCC is dedicated to giving over 100 displaced, rescued, and zoo-born wild animals a home. WLCC also participates in species conservation efforts called Species Survival Plans (SSP), which are managed by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).
SSP programs cooperatively manage threatened and endangered species within AZA-accredited Zoos and Aquariums, Certified Related Facilities, and Sustainability Partners. SSPs preserve species from extinction by maintaining sustainable and genetically diverse populations of species.

Wildlife Learning and Conservation Center is dedicated to providing sanctuary for non-releasable wildlife and promoting conservation and appreciation of wildlife by engaging the public in educational experiences. Meet a fascinating variety of animals from around the world exhibited in a beautifully landscaped setting. Stroll along the paths and enjoy viewing the animals or sign up for an individual animal experience!
INDIVIDUAL ANIMAL EXPERIENCES
Our animal experiences allow you an opportunity to meet your favorite animal up close and personal! All proceeds go directly to the care of the animals. Have fun while supporting a great cause! Each experience is approximately 10 to 15 minutes
Sloth Social
Enter our sloth enclosure to meet one of nature’s most unusual animals. Learn about the sloth’s rainforest adaptations and even take a picture next to one!
The Furrific Trio
Meet a hedgehog, rabbit, and chinchilla and learn about the fascinating adaptations these little creatures use to survive.
Eagle Owl Encounter
Meet an owl and learn the truth about those eyes, how they’re able to turn their heads so far, and if they’re really as wise as they look!
Porcupine Dining Time
Enter our North American porcupine habitat and feed them their favorite snacks while learning about their protective quills!
Snake Soiree
Help a biologist hold an 8-foot Red-tailed Boa! Feel its smooth, scaly skin, and learn about how its beautiful color pattern helps to keep it safe!

Outreach School Programs
Our enthusiastic Biologists combine wildlife and the State of California Academic Standards for Science in a fun and informative way to bring the Life Sciences . . . to LIFE! The information is always geared to the age of our audience. Some schools break the students into more than one group based on age or grade so we can more effectively target a particular level of understanding. Others invite all ages together while we provide the information for a broader range of understanding.
On-site Programs
Guests participating in our on-site programs will experience an interactive presentation followed by access to WLC to explore the natural behaviors of the animals!

Accessibility
The WLC welcomes all guests, they are happy to help make your visit to the WLC a safe, memorable, and enjoyable one. The following information is provided to assist you in planning your visit.
WLC is conveniently located from the 5 and 210 freeways. Ample street parking is usually available. All of the exhibits, Reptile Room, and restrooms are accessible to people of all abilities. WLC is immensely appreciative of Paulie Perrette for donating a chair lift for access to the Reptile Room!
