Ocean Voyage Adventure at Kualoa Ranch
Donât miss the chance to see the Oahu in all its scenic glory with a catamaran tour around Kuala Ranch. Hop aboard a 49-passenger boat for a narrated tour of Kaneohe Bay, Mokolii Island (Chinaman’s Hat), and more. Plus, youâll take a bus tour of Molii Gardens or a canoe ride on an ancient fishpond.
Malama Experience at Kualoa Ranch
Immerse yourself in Hawaiiâs lush landscape with this hands-on two-hour introduction to sustainable local farming techniques. Against a jaw-dropping jungle landscape, your guide will explain why sustainability is so important to traditional Hawaiian ways of life, including the cultivation of kalo â a potato-like root and local staple â from mountain streams.
Kualoa Grown: Fruit & Farm Tour
Taste-test some of the native fruits and local delicacies along the way â depending on the season you visit. In addition to sampling some of the local foods, this tour includes a visit to Moliâi, one of the most well-preserved ancient Hawaiian fishponds (Moli’i)Â in all of Oahu, and an actively farmed fishpond today. Itâs listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior and is carbon-dated to around 800 to 1,000 years old. You can even still see some of the original stonewall infrastructures. Here, youâll learn all about early Hawaiian aquaculture practices and fish farming from stories of early canoe voyages.
Ocean Voyage Adventure at Kualoa Ranch
- KÄneohe Bay â this is the largest sheltered body of water in the main Hawaiian Islands. The 8-mile-long bay is dominated by a barrier reef (one of only two in the island chain), and sits on the northeast coast of Oahu.
- Mokolii Island â this 12.5-acre island is located off the shore of Kualoa Point and was once connected to Oahu before erosion separated the two. The island is referred to as âChinamanâs Hatâ due to its resemblance to the straw hats worn by Chinese immigrants. The island is a popular spot for swimming and kayaking with locals.
- Hokulea Beach â this beautiful patch of beach is the ceremonial home of the first modern replica of an ancient sailing canoeâa cultural and historical treat to behold.
